Decline in the rate of admission, Why?

Every year engineering colleges race against each other to grab maximum number of students to fulfil the seats. But, as usual the graph of fulfilment of seats is continuously declining. There are various reasons to this downfall. There was a time when every parent wanted his child to become an engineer. Every mind kept the perception that after doing engineering the career of a student is settled. But, with the growing number of population of engineers, there is a lack of employment in the country.
