Sri Sri Ravi Shankar enlightens the felicitation ceremony

Sharda University organized its second convocation with full fervor in which the environment shone up bright, with the presence of eminent spiritual leader and the founder of ‘Art of Living’, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar as Chief Guest. At the occasion, the Chancellor of the University, Mr. P.K. Gupta handed over Degrees to over 3,621 students of 2014-15 and 2015-16 batches of the University, in the presence of quite a large gathering of dignitaries. The toppers across 11 schools of the University were awarded with Gold Medals by the Chancellor, P.K. Gupta. Apart from awarding degrees to the successful students, Sharda University also conferred an honorary doctorate degree— Doctor of Literature, Honoris Causa on the Chief Guest Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The University awarded another honorary doctorate degree, Doctor of Science, Honoris Causa on the Guest of Honor at the occasion, Dr. Vedprakash Mishra, an eminent educationist in the field of medical education. 
At the occasion, P.K. Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University said, “It gives me immense pleasure and satisfaction that we are gathered here to acknowledge the hard work of the students. I feel proud that today students and alumni from 56 countries globally came all the way to attend the convocation ceremony. The day is not far away when Sharda University will be ranked amongst the top most universities of the world.” He also compared Sharda University with Nalanda University which was world’s oldest 
University.
Sharda University awarded undergraduate degrees to 2909 proud recipients, and post graduate degrees to 682 scholars. In addition, for the first time, it also honoured 30 scholars who have completed all requirements for the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy. All the students attending the convocation ceremony attributed their success to the teachers of the University.
