Before Admission to New Session AKTU springs surprise- Suspends and with-holds result
| Education Jagat - 06 Mar 2017

In what could be the landmark decision by The Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), it decided to withhold the result of the nearly 20,000 students and suspended them from its 600 aided and private colleges on suspicion of forgery of documents at the time of selection.

Speaking over the same, AKTU Vice Chancellor Professor Vinay Kumar Pathak said, “The suspended students did not submit all the required documents. The students, however, have been given time until March 8 to submit the required papers to continue their education.”

The colleges have been ordered to get the documents of the suspended students verified by the deadline, March 8, to continue their education in the institution. Those who fail to get their documents verified their enrolment will be cancelled.

The colleges will have to submit and get the individual mark-sheet, migration certificate, address proof, income certificate and other related documents of each the suspended students physically verified at the Lucknow University Campus by 8th of March, 2017.

The AKTU officials have claimed that the misdeed happened because the colleges wanted to fill the vacant seats in a hurry.

AKTU has assured to take appropriate action against the colleges which will be found guilty of practicing forgery. The affiliated colleges may suffer a deduction of seats or cancellation of affiliation if found guilty.

Education Jagat was first to report the news about such irregularities in their issue of 1-15 July’2016. In the report, Education Jagat had highlighted the dubious practice of how such admissions are forged and done by local colleges and institution to earn easy money in the form of donations.

The irregularity was traced after manually checking and finding the online database prepared before the entrance examination different from the hard copies of the documents submitted by the students in the colleges, said AKTU Registrar Pawan Gangwar.

All just to Siphon off the Scholarship Amount

The scam happened only to siphon off the Scholarship amount that is paid to the institution for the reserved category candidates.  The full fee amount for seats that are for the reserved category are paid as scholarship amount to students, and the colleges siphoned off this amount by adopting dubious means for admission to such seats.
