Once again DU beats the colleges all over India. The Top-10 list of Colleges across the country is decorated with 11 Colleges of Delhi University (DU). Miranda House of DU obtained the 1st Rank in the Hit list of Top 10 colleges and JNU 2nd position in Top 10 list of Universities of India. During the releasing ceremony of India Rankings 2017, the Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Prakash Javadekar said that the ranking system would encourage bringing fair competition among the institutions for achieving excellence in their efforts. To bring transparency and credibility, government has introduced National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). This year, total 2995 Institutions participated in ranking which included 232 Universities, 1024 Engineering Institutions, 546 Management Institutions, 318 Pharmacy Institutions and 637 General Degree Colleges. The Ranking Parameters was set on the basis of Teaching & Learning Resources, Result of Graduation, Perception, Outreach & Inclusivity and Research Productivity.

As per the Media ranking Universities, U.P’s No.1 & India’s No.3 University could not make it. None of the U.P Universities were able to fetch any rank among the list of Top-10. With this result we can determine about the performance and the quality of education provided in the Universities. A regular surveillance is required in the Universities.
