IIT-Delhi plans for new campuses in Jhajjar and Sonipat, Abu Dhabi Campus set for 2024 Launch

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D) will soon open two new campuses in Haryana’s Jhajjar and Sonipat. The announcement was made by IIT Delhi’s director Rangan Banerjee. He further announced that the work of the new campus will be completed by the end of November 2023.
 On the Sonipat campus, construction of the IoE-funded SATHI building is likely to be completed by November 2023 end. The total cost of the project is Rs. 59.73 Crore. The Jhajjar campus will be the country’s first-of-its-kind institute for Patient-Specific Drug Development for Cancer Treatment.
Banerjee also announced that formal programs at the IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi campus will start in 2024. “We still need approvals, both internally and externally. We have different mechanisms to do admissions in both India and UAE. We are trying to have a blend of both. We aim to have diversified classrooms,” he said in a press conference.
 A temporary campus for IIT Delhi-Abu Dhabi is already assigned, and work for customization of the existing facilities to IIT Delhi’s requirements has already started, the institute clarified.
