Begin and End, Only Matters to be Successful!

Let me ask you one quick question:

If you want to climb a mountain, what is the one thing you will need the most?

Chances are that you will start drawing out a long list of must-have abilities like strength, willpower, confidence, training, endurance, passion, courage, etc.

Do you think, any one of the above is a correct answer? Of course, “No”.

The answer is, that the one thing we will need the most is to know about the “Mountain” itself. The reason is that the size or magnitude of the “Mountain” will decide whether someone needs willpower, passion, training or courage, etc. Because, if the mountain is small then climbing on it will be just a child’s play. Do you think someone will need training or courage etc. to climb? Surely ‘No’!

Merely hard work, passion, courage, etc. do not get us to a worthwhile destination. Nobody starts a major journey without knowing the destination. That’s the reason it is always said that ‘Goals’ are the guide to success. If there are no goals, how can success be spelled out?

“Goals” are the guide to success!

Let’s take an example. If two football teams are made to play a standard 90 minutes game, comprising two halves of 45 minutes each, without a “Goal Post”. What will be the outcome of the game? There will be plenty of chances that a couple of players get injured since the game is very aggressive but the outcome will be nothing. The game will end up without any result. Despite an excellent ground, a cheering audience, and two high-performing teams on both sides, just the absence of a small element such as the goal-post make the entire effort futile.

Goals give a reason, direction, focus, and purpose to perform. Without setting goals, the sheer efforts do not pay any dividends. A lot of us, surge through life on an adrenaline rush. We spend hours working hard, day and night, tirelessly running through the motions. But if we are not focusing this energy, enthusiasm, and all the hard work backing these efforts into a result, our outcome will be limited too.

Three Unwritten Rules:

Self-Belief. The self-assurance that yes, I can do it! It is the trust that yes, I can also do it! The confidence that yes, I will do it! Self-confidence comes from knowing you can succeed. Without it, you are less likely to try new things, seize opportunities, take risks or go for the things you want in life.

Hard Work. God has not made anyone a ‘Super Human Being’ or ‘Super Genius’. If we have to perform better than others then we have to work harder than others too. Hard work determines our value in life. Diligence is the weapon of human life on the strength of which he/she can overcome even the most severe crisis. There is a well-known proverb “No pain, no gain” i.e., hard work never goes wasted.

Determination. Ups and downs, highs and lows, successes and failures, wins and losses are a part of life’s journey. One has to stay determined in whatever one has to accomplish. The never quit attitude is an important ingredient in success. Determination is the ability to keep going forward, toward your goal, trying and striving, and not giving up when encountering obstacles and difficulties.

Do not stop when you are tired. Stop when you are done. – Unknown
