Before any nation or organization can be great, there must be men who will stand in the gap. Men are willing to emerge or evolve and make sacrifices today for a greater tomorrow. Men who are willing to rise again not minding the colossal failure or allowing bad memories of the past tie them to stagnancy.
A story was told by Dr. G. Campbell Morgan of a man whose shop burned to the ground in the great Chicago fire of 1871. The next morning, he arrived at work carrying a table that he set up amid the charred ruins. On it he placed a sign that read, “Everything lost except wife, children, and hope. Business as usual tomorrow morning. “Solomon said in Proverbs 22:29 “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings, not mean men.”
In this man, we see a personality who was ready to emerge, influence and control the system again as a leader in his business fully equipped with hope, optimism, passion, faith, courage and hunger to be more and do more (responsibility). You say you want to emerge as a global leader? My question now is - how “hungry” are you?
Leadership is all about influence, authority, responsibility, and control and to emerge as a global leader in today’s world is not a walk in the park. You must first recognize who you are and appreciate your leadership potential. for the greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life that has not realized its potential.
To emerge means to become manifest or become known or come into evolution. To emerge means to rise from obscurity to prominence. To emerge also means to rise from colossal failure to greatness or unmatchable influence.
Emerging as a global leader requires that you walk the talk by finding a cause greater than yourself, one that will outlive you. Pour yourself into it and bring forth change and spark the brain and genius of the generation and generations yet unborn always remembering that the true essence of leadership isn’t about the title or rank you hold, but rather your ability to inspire and influence others.
Leaders are made. Leaders emerge. Leaders evolve. Leaders motivate, guide, influence, and lead where they are. I now leave you with the resounding words of Harry S. Truman which says “Men (and Women) make history not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skillful leaders seize the opportunity to change things for the better.
